long-ago, a beautiful ladybird with a glowing light lived in a lush forest. Her light changed with the reflection of the moonlight so that it would sometimes shine bright red and other times be as dim as a candle. She would take flight during the night, illuminating the path for herself and fellow insects who lived in the woodland.

One evening, an inquisitive young snake caught sight of the ladybird's radiant glow and became instantly captivated by her allure. He was not afraid of the terrible storm that was raging through the forest. The light felt warm and inviting, like a beacon calling to him from the darkness.
The snake crawled along the light wherever it went, ignoring all else in his way. Days and nights passed, and the snake remained steadfast, never losing sight of his luminous guide.
The more he followed the light, the more he came to admire the ladybird's beauty and grace. The snake began to daydream about what it would be like to spend the rest of his life with the ladybird. As the ladybird paused on a dew-kissed leaf, with a fluid motion, the snake glided into position, facing the ladybird.
Overwhelmed with emotion, his heart pounding and breath shallowing, the snake confessed, "Radiant ladybird, your luminescence has been my guiding star. From the moment our eyes met, I was ensnared by your beauty. Consumed by adoration, I have neglected sustenance and slumber. Will you be my eternal companion?"
The ladybird, touched but resolute, replied, ‘Thank you for your kind words. Beneath these colorful wings, I am just an ordinary insect. You are a land-dweller, which makes me a bit uncomfortable. We’re as different as land and sky, with nothing in common. It’s better for us to embrace our differences and let nature take its course.
The snake's heart shattered, yet he understood the ladybird's wisdom. They were two beings too different to be together, and it would be better for them to go their separate ways. He bid her farewell and disappeared into the forest, never to be seen again.
The ladybird continued to illuminate the forest during the night, forever carrying the memory of the snake who adored her light. She acknowledged their paths were different but etched within her heart the enduring truth that love possessed an extraordinary power, capable of uniting even the most dissimilar creatures, regardless of appearances.
