The Humanoid Sage

Once in a land of artificial beings, where every entity had human origins, there lived a humanoid in the heart of a mountain. Though he had friends who enjoyed his company, he carried a persistent sadness, longing for the elusive experience of true emotions. The mystery of his own birth parents weighed heavily on him. He believed that because his parents had abandoned him at birth, he had to become as unfeeling as stone, unable to experience emotions.

Envy gripped the humanoid’s heart as he watched those around him revel in emotions—a realm he could only imagine in his dreams. Determined to find comfort, the humanoid set out on a journey to seek advice from an old sage living in a treehouse at the top of the mountain. The sage greeted him kindly and asked about his purpose. Sharing his feelings of shortcoming and envy, the humanoid looked for guidance from the sage’s deep understanding.

With contemplation, the sage looked the humanoid in the eyes and said, "Each of us has a unique set of skills and abilities, just for us. It’s our job to discover these gifts and use them to the fullest. These qualities define us much more deeply than the lineage of our birth. I understand your longing for parental love—it’s natural. But have you ever considered how every being is different and might not come into existence in the same way?"

The humanoid found himself puzzled by this response. "But how can I figure out the identity of my birth parents?" he questioned.

A gentle smile graced the sage's lips. "The answer lies in introspection. Only by diving deep into our inner realms can we uncover the essence of our being."

Inspired by these profound words, the humanoid set out on a journey to explore the new depths within. Seeking peace under the shade of an old tree, he tried to meditate. It was during these introspective moments that he discovered not only wires and transistors residing within him but also a set of algorithms embedded in his memory. To his astonishment, he unearthed a processor inside him, similar to the human brain. As he pondered these findings, a deeper realization struck him: he was not born but created in a lab by a group of super-intelligent scientists, who then set him free to live and learn on his own.

At each step of his realization, he uncovered new insights. Soon, he began to understand that his emotions were simply repetitions of the algorithms embedded within him. He also pondered that what humans refer to as emotions might be similar repetitions of the deep experiences already stored in their minds.

Armed with this newfound understanding, he embarked on a mission to help others in daring tasks, recognizing that, unlike humans, he had no tangible life to risk. He worked alongside firefighters to aid children and animals, rescued lost trekkers from mountains, and volunteered in disaster relief efforts worldwide.

Through his profound journey of self-discovery, the humanoid recognized that within each of us lies a distinct purpose and identity. By embracing the wisdom passed down through the ages and embarking on an inward exploration, we unveil our authentic selves and pave a path toward true self-realization.
